Dielectric mie voids: confining light in air

HIGHLIGHTS

  • who: Mario Hentschel from the (UNIVERSITY) have published the paper: Dielectric Mie voids: confining light in air, in the Journal: (JOURNAL)
  • what: The authors demonstrate that voids created in high-index dielectric host materials support localized resonant modes with exceptional optical properties. The authors show that these void modes are predicted by Mie`s theory and bear close resemblance with the Mie modes of a high-index sphere, yet showing subtle, but significant differences. The novelty of the work , compared to the state of the art, is thus the experimental implementation of a new building . . .
