  • What: The drought assessment for the study is done using the SPI developed by Mackee in 1993. In the study, the existence of statistically significant positive or negative trend is considered at 99.99%, 99.0% and 95% significance level with corresponding p-values of 0.001, 0.01, and 0.05. The investigation focuses on examining the spatial distribution of drought occurrences within the framework of three distinct drought categories: mild, moderate, and severe, as delineated by the Mackee classification scheme .
