HIGHLIGHTS
- What: The focus of this paper is a classification based on economic characteristics. The paper examines the variation in municipal current expenditure over the course of a term of office. This study shows that fluctuations in total current expenditure in Polish municipalities between 2008 and 2022 align with the conventional sequence of events in the political budget cycle.
