    There is another crucial dimension to consider: motivational factors may not only affect performance during the learning session (e_g, how well one understands the meaning of a new-word when first encountering it), but the interplay between different motivational factors might also influence longer-lasting memory processes (e_g, remembering the new vocabulary and reducing natural forgetting).
