  • What: The aim of this study was to better understand the design parameters of the rings that determine postoperative refractive and mechanical outcomes. The authors investigated various basic geometric features of the ring (Fig 2). The study has similar limitations to previous numerical studies of intrastromal corneal ring segments (ICRS), such as the use of continuous rings using axisymmetric simulations with average corneas or the use of mechanical models that are isotropic-hyperelastic .
