Exploration of genes associated with induction of the viable but non-culturable state of campylobacter jejuni

  • What: The authors aimed to identify the genes involved in the transition from the culturable state to the VBNC state in C. jejuni by analysing their mRNA expression. The results of the analysis of the four software programs were ranked by RefFinder, and Pal was identified the most stable gene and was used as an internal control. Genes, the authors focused on cj1500, because Cj1500 compose FDH, which is related to respiratory metabolism, and some bacteria have been reported to resuscitate when respiratory substrates are added to the medium.
