  • What: To better understand the age-specific factors that are associated with the hidden expression of bodily distress via somatic complaints in emerging adults, the authors utilize an integrated approach focusing on social and psychological factors. Taken together, the study analyzes how personality factors, identity-related stress, coping with identity stress, and parental rearing styles varies between participants, and, further, based on the potential variation, which factors generalize across countries as potential risk factors for the emergence of somatic complaints.
