- what: The authors provide the first proof for an arginine dimethylation of RIPK3 as such a modulatory mechanism. Using a RIPK3 rescue model in a RIPK3deficient pancreatic cancer cell line which normally cannot undergo necroptosis, the authors demonstrate that the evolutionary conserved dimethylated arginine residue R486 is important for RIPK3-mediated feedback control on RIPK1 autophosphorylation.
