    Multiple_sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease of the central nervous system, characterised by focal lesions of primary demyelination and neurodegeneration. In recent decades, several observational studies worldwide showed an inverse association between vitamin D levels 2 of 8 and MS risk. Vitamin D levels are influenced by both environmental and genetic factors.
