Synergistic effect of lipoprotein(a) and high-sensitivity c-reactive protein on the risk of all-cause and cardiovascular death in patients with acute myocardial infarction: a large prospective cohort study

HIGHLIGHTS

  • What: This study explored their synergistic effects on allcause and cardiovascular death in AMI patients, aiming to advance integrated risk management strategies for high-risk populations. Sensitivity analysis was conducted to evaluate the stability of these associations, particularly after excluding patients with an eGFR and amp;lt; 30 ml/min/ 1.73m2. Although this study has revealed the synergistic effect of Lp(a) and HsCRP on the risk of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality in AMI patients, Hs-CRP may indicate the need for anti-inflammatory medications such as colchicine.
